Design as a Starting Point

GINA35 emerges as an exploration of design shaped by sensitivity and precision. In a context where the kitchen evolves beyond pure functionality to become a space of experience, this model proposes a more organic and contemporary perspective. Forms soften, volumes find balance, and the whole is presented as a serene piece that dialogues with architecture without imposing itself.
GINA35: ONE KITCHEN, TWO INTERNATIONAL DESIGN AWARDS 2

The recognition of a way of making

GINA35 has been recognised with both the iF DESIGN AWARD 2026 and the RED DOT AWARD 2026 in the Product Design category, two of the most prestigious distinctions in international design. More than awards, these recognitions represent the validation of a particular way of understanding design: rigorous, sensitive and deeply rooted in craftsmanship.

In a global context where thousands of entries from around the world were evaluated by international design experts, GINA35 stands out for its ability to reinterpret the kitchen as a contemporary living space where technical precision and emotional connection coexist naturally. A project that further strengthens REKKER’s position within the international design landscape.

Design through proportion

GINA35 is born from a precise reflection on material and proportion. Its identity is built upon an apparently simple gesture: 35 mm thick fronts and doors that define the entire system. Beyond a measurement, 35 becomes a language—an internal order that structures the project through exact proportional relationships.

This rigor translates into a balanced and harmonious composition, where each element naturally finds its place. Forms are softened through rounded edges and continuous transitions, offering a more organic reading of the whole and creating a sense of fluidity that transforms the spatial experience.

MDi fronts by Inalco bring resistance, stability, and architectural precision, while solid oak—stained and milled—introduces depth and warmth. In the Umbra finish, grains and tonal variations intertwine to create a rich, almost pictorial surface that evolves with light.

A way of living

This dialogue between materials is complemented by a craftsmanship that defines the essence of REKKER. Details such as dovetail-joined drawers reveal a way of making where technique is not concealed, but becomes part of the object’s value. Technology and craftsmanship thus coexist in a balance that gives meaning to the whole.

Beyond its formal language, GINA35 is conceived as an architectural piece capable of giving meaning to the domestic space. A kitchen designed to be lived in, where every everyday gesture becomes part of a broader experience—connected to time, material, and surroundings.

For REKKER, this recognition is also a reflection of collective work. A family-run company that has managed to preserve the value of craftsmanship while evolving towards a contemporary vision of design. GINA35 embodies this way of making: a kitchen that not only responds to function, but defines a way of living—where design, craftsmanship, and life exist in balance
